Deadline announced Cudi’s inclusion in the Netflix film on Friday (October 25), though they noted that his role – as well as the film’s plot – is still under wraps. Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald will be reprising their roles of Virginia Venit and Shooter McGavin, respectively, and Sandler previously teased that both Travis Kelce and Bad Bunny will be making appearances as well.
“Another dream come true. BLESSED!! Get ready, this ones gonna be EPIC.”
Kid Cudi is on a roll with his acting career, and recently revealed he landed a starring role for what will be his third movie in the horror genre.
“I cant wait to film this new flick im doin next year,” he wrote on X in August. “Its my 3rd horror movie, and im the lead. Its a pretty fuckin intense ride, and im ready show yall what im truly capable of. This whole time Ive been studyin as an actor waitin for this one moment. The news arrived just weeks after the release of Cudi’s latest movie, an M. Night Shyamalan thriller titled Trap.
Announcing his part in Trap earlier this year, Kid Cudi expressed his excitement at starring alongside his acting buddy Josh Hartnett, who helped create one of his most iconic music videos.
“This was also a huge moment for me, as I was reunited w my old friend Josh Hartnett. Lil known fact: Josh produced the official Pursuit of Happiness video and hes always been someone I hold very dear to my heart.”
He added: “MAKE SURE YALL LOCK IN AND CHECK THIS SHIT OUT ITS CRAZY!! CMON ITS M NIGHT MANE!!! And SALEKA, cant wait for the world to see you shine so bright!! U are a treasure,” referring to M. Night Shyamalan’s daughter, who stars in the film.
