Jim Jones has called out Fabolous in hilarious fashion for consistently being late to their gym sessions.

The two New York rappers recently appeared in a trailer for a new BET show called Ms. Pat Settles It, which premieres on Wednesday (October 18) at 10 p.m. ET

In the trailer, comedian Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams plays the role of judge as Jim Jones argues his case in court against Fabolous for his tardiness and choice of outfits.

“They say time is the most valuable thing that you can get right?” Capo asks. “And I’m tryna sue this man for all the hours of time in the gym he’s wasted of mines. He’s coming fashionably late, and after a while, it’s starts becoming a fashion show where it’s too distracting for me.”

The trailer then cuts to Fab wearing a color-coordinated outfit from head to toe at the gym, backing up Jones’ argument.

Loso counters Capo’s argument by saying the reason why he’s being sued is due to pure “hate” because he’s from Brooklyn, while Jim is from Harlem.

After the courtroom squabbling, Ms. Pat eventually rules in favor of Fabolous because she likes his “church windows” jacket.

According to Deadline, Ms. Pat Settles It centers around her being a TV judge and presiding over “real cases where genuine relationships hang in the balance.”

She also plans to provide “candid, humorous and heartfelt judgments every time” through cases which deal with “family and relationship dynamics involving everyday people who willingly accept the show’s verdict as binding.”

Other famous faces expected to step inside her courtroom as celebrity guest jurors include Ray J, DeRay Davis, Carmen Barton, Jordan E. Cooper, Jasmine Luv and more.

Jim Jones has previously taken issue with Fabolous’ tardiness and outfit choices at the gym in a joking manner.

“Bro, nah, don’t take the coat off now,” Jim told the Brooklyn native in an Instagram video. “Yo, look how he come out! We in the gym, bro! Yo bro, why we coming to work out?”

Maino chimed in with a hilarious take on Fab’s fashion sense by asking: “You got all your shit laid out for the week?”

On the music side of things, Jim Jones, Fabolous, Maino and Dave East are currently working on a collaborative album titled Fit Lit, which is inspired by their love of the gym.

“I’m gonna tell you some secretive shit that I’ve never talked about,” Maino teased during an interview with AllHipHop earlier this year. “It’s actually an album that’s I’ll say 85 percent done — me, Jim, Fabolous and Dave East.

“Fit Lit — it’s us together because we be working out. That’s our little Fit Lit Club. We got some heat.”

6ix9ine has once again found himself in the hot seat after he was reportedly arrested due to emotions running high in the Dominican Republic.

On Friday (October 13), two video clips surfaced online that allegedly show the controversial rapper (real name Daniel Hernandez) with his crew rolling up to a producer’s home in the D.R. before fleeing the scene minutes later.

While the reported beatdown itself was not caught on camera, the rainbow-haired rapper was later apprehended by authorities after claims he assaulted two men for an ill-received incident involving his girlfriend.

According to a post by Felix Portes, a criminal lawyer in the Dominican Republic, the “MALA” artist was attempting to board a private jet to flee the country when authorities stopped the plane and issued a warrant against the rapper for “blows and injuries, and threats.”

However, Portes later updated his post to say that 6ix9ine ended up on “MIGRATION ALERT” and that his whereabouts were “unknown.” It’s not clear at this time where the rapper is and whether he was actually arrested.

This summer, 6ix9ine found himself facing more legal troubles in Florida after he failed to appear in court for a separate infraction.

According to Page Six, the 27-year-old was booked into a Palm Beach County jail on charges of failure to appear but released from custody roughly three hours later after posting a $2,000 bond.

According to TMZ, the arrest stemmed from three traffic tickets 6ix9ine received after he was pulled over by police in June for driving over the speed limit.

Tekashi was doing 135 mph in a 65 mph zone on the Florida Turnpike, per court documents. He was also issued citations for having an unregistered vehicle and no car insurance. He then failed to appear for a court hearing in July, leading to an arrest warrant being issued.

In Florida, failing to appear in court is punishable by fines or imprisonment, per West Palm Beach Defense. The severity of the punishment depends on the nature of the case and the judge’s discretion.

A viral video of the attack, which went down this past spring, showed 6ix9ine lying on the bathroom floor protecting his head as two men stood over him and kicked and punched him.

“Bitch ass! Clown ass n-gga!” one of the men could be heard shouting at 6ix9ine during the beatdown. “Take a picture! I want to be famous now, n-gga!”

Additional footage showed the “GUMMO” hitmaker sporting a swollen and bloodied face as he made his way out of the gym. “They jumped me,” he said while being recorded by a fellow gym-goer who claimed to be a fan.

6ix9ine was later taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries to his jaw, ribs, and back, as well as cuts and bruises.

The three suspects — Rafael Medina Jr., 43, Anthony Maldonado, 25, and Octavious Medina, 23 — were arrested and booked on robbery and assault charges.

Drake’s eighth studio LP For All The Dogs is projected to generate massive numbers in its first week, adding to his solid track record of fan engagement.

Released at 6 AM on Friday (October 6), the album is currently expected to hit an opening of 400–450K units in its first week.

This would make it the fourth-biggest opening of any album this year, trailing only Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen, and Travis Scott.

For All The Dogs has 23 songs in total, with contributions from Teezo Touchdown, 21 Savage, J. Cole and Chief Keef, among others. With a runtime that comes to almost an hour and a half, this is Drizzy’s first album of this year after dropping two in

2022, including a collaborative record with 21 Savage.

Aside from all the positives, Drake has also been put on blast by a Baltimore artist named Rye Rye who claimed she was sampled on For All The Dogs.

The 32-year-old rapper took to social media soon after the album went public to say that her “What” ad-lib had been used on the 21 Savage-assisted “Calling For You.”

“I’m laughing but it’s really not funny @champagnepapi DRAKE I EXPECT MORE OF YOU OMG ..yall I might go into a deep depression again but I’m happy too but also I feel played with.”

Rye Rye continued: “Me and @blaqstarr FR should be getting our credit but this also lets me know I’m legendary lol Thank you But stop taking advantage of black women dawgggg.”

The uncredited vocals originally landed on the deluxe edition of Rye’s 2012 album, Go! Pop! Bang!

“Calling For You” landed as track no. 3 on For All The Dogs and is produced by a phalanx of beatsmiths that includes Lil Yachty, Powertrav, Noah “40” Shebib, and Cash Cobain.

On Wednesday (October 4), the suspect (real name Duane Davis) was scheduled to appear in front of a judge for his first hearing. This would have given him a chance to respond to being charged with one count of murder with use of a deadly weapon in relation to the killing of Tupac Shakur in 1996.

The defendant’s lawyer, however, never showed up. As a result, Keefe D asked the judge for a two-week continuance, which means that his arraignment has been postponed.

Davis was taken into police custody on Friday morning (September 29), marking the first ever arrest in the investigation into ‘Pac’s murder, which has remained unsolved for 27 years.

The development comes a little over two months after police raided the home of the suspect’s wife. Las Vegas police said at the time that they were searching the house “as part of the ongoing Tupac Shakur homicide investigation.”

Nevertheless, a police source said in August that detectives were building a compelling case against Davis and charges against the former gang member were “imminent.”

Davis, 60, has long claimed that he was inside the car from which the bullets that killed ‘Pac were fired. In a 2018 interview, he claimed that his nephew, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, was one of two people sitting in the backseat of the car, the area from which the shots were let off.

2Pac was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996. Six days later, he died in hospital from his injuries, cutting short the life of one of Hip Hop’s most influential figures.

Little Brother have partnered with a North Carolina brewery to launch their own beer, which will be available exclusively at their upcoming festival.

On Wednesday (October 4), member Phonte Coleman unveiled Percy’s Paw Paw Miracle, a beverage named after his R&B pseudonym, Percy Miracles. The local drink will debut at Made In Durham: A Little Brother Block Party on Saturday (October 7).

“I never would’ve imagined Little Brother would have our own beer,” Coleman said. “The music industry is a brutal business, y’know what I’m sayin , and does not treat anyone kindly. So the fact that we’re still here and still able to just do these cool collaborations, y’know locally, with people in our community — it really means a lot.”

Little Brother has stirred up anticipation for the 20-year celebration of their debut album, The Listening, in several other ways. Just last month, the pair released two new singles.

In mid-September, the duo comprising Coleman and Big Pooh dropped some fresh cuts: “Wish Me Well” and “Glory Glory.” About the new releases and its broader implications, Coleman told HipHopDX: “No album. We just talkin’ our shit and having fun.”

The pair’s year-long party to commemorate The Listening will culminate in Durham, North Carolina this weekend with Big K.R.I.T and The Cool Kids enlisted to headline the celebratory event. The gathering will also feature Zo! & Tall Black Guy, Hourglass, Wally Sparks and Sam Jay.

When Little Brother’s debut album LP was released on February 25, 2003, the 20-something college students were unknowingly swimming against the Hip Hop tide. Then trio of rappers Phonte Coleman, Big Pooh and producer 9th Wonder crafted a soulful homage to their foundational heroes like A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul and Slum Village at a time when standard bearers of the underground like Common and The Roots were pivoting into more experimental territory sonically and the South as a region was dominating with splashy, high-BPM, escapist fair designed for radio and club consumption.

Not to mention a guy named 50 Cent was casting a long shadow over the entire industry with his Lazarean mythology and bullet-riddled boasts backed by two of the biggest names in music: Dr. Dre and Eminem.

“I didn’t know what the hell was going on, man,” Big Pooh said during an exclusive interview with HipHopDX. “We were having fun. It was some work element to it, but it was fun. I really had no expectation for anything involving making that album, other than we think it’s dope. We think what we’re doing is dope. But just that time, man, you can never get that time back.

“There were no expectations. We were just trying to do what we thought was right, and having fun doing it, and just that it was so innocent. I’ll use that word. It was innocent. You can never get that moment back, no matter how much you try. We know too much now. We’ve been in The Matrix. We were all naive, to a certain point, and just going in there trying to make the best [music].”

“We actually thought the music business was a meritocracy,” Phonte added. “[But] it’s so much politics and shit that ain’t got nothin’ to do with music.”

The Listening was Little Brother’s first and last album on ABB Records, jumping to Atlantic for their follow-up, The Minstrel Show. The group have gone through multiple changes, both business-wise and personally, in the decades that followed, but their core has remained intact through it all.

Reason has never been afraid to share his not-so-positive opinions about TDE or his label’s president, but he probably never thought he’d be flying solo at his album release party.

On Friday (August 18), the rapper sat down for a chat on the Rory & Mal podcast, during which he revealed that allegedly no one from TDE showed up to the release party for his latest album, Porches.

“That’s what I thought was going to be the weirdest part,” he said, when Rory asked what he thought would be happening at his album release party. “But it ended up not being as bad. I had a release party, and nobody showed up from the label, so…”

When the hosts asked, again, if Reason was being serious, he re-emphasized the point. “Ray Vaughn showed up — shout out to Ray Vaughn,” he said. “I took it as, you know, maybe n-ggas giving me some space.”

Earlier this month, the Carson rapper got into an argument with the label’s co-president Moosa during an interview.

Reason appeared on an episode of BACKONFIGG earlier this month, where he aired out his frustrations with the rollout of Porches.

“We had certain features lined up that could’ve gone through,” he vented. “We had the budget, we had the feature lined up, takes too long to get pushed through, the feature price ended up going up or something goes away. Content ideas lined up, not executed. Rollout ideas lined up, not executed.

“It was a few different things. I had Latto lined up for something, not executed. I had EST Gee lined up, not executed. Like, us not pushing through. Features lined up, we got a price set, video, and verse for the love, takes too long.”

He added: “I’ll speak on the EST Gee shit specifically — took too long to get through to EST Gee and his people and be like, ‘Yo, this is what we wanna do.’ By the time we ended up connecting with him and reaching out, he dropped a record with Future and the record went crazy. Now, the feature is $25,000 more than what it already was.”

Ebro Darden has called on rappers to up their creativity as major labels are allegedly turning elsewhere to find talent.

On Thursday morning (August 17), the Ebro in the Morning host took to Twitter to share details about a call he allegedly received with some insider information regarding the direction labels are now taking to find talent.

“I got a call saying …. ‘It should be noted many major record labels have deprioritized signing Rappers,'” he wrote. “The focus is now African Music & Latin Music Rappers better stop being boring and talking about the same shit over and over, chasing TikTok success and comment sections.”

Never afraid to stir the pot when it comes to driving conversation on social media, Ebro’s followers had plenty to say in response to his claims.

“People are tired of hearing ‘Lil’ rappers mumble about ass, tits, and killing their neighbors. Nobody cares anymore, the industry needs to evolve,” one person said.

Another clapped back: “So is Hot 97 about to rebrand with tag line Blazing Afro Beats & Latin Music? It don’t sound as smooth as Blazing Hip Hop & R&B.”

He added on Apple Music’s Rap Life: “If you rap and you post all the time and Hip Hop’s birthday came around and you can’t say thank you. Just know I saw you.”

Joe Budden got wind of Ebro taking shots at rappers and he decided to point the finger at record labels instead. “Funny, i said this same thing about the labels lol,” he replied in 2Cool2Bl0g‘s repost of Ebro’s comments.

Ebro and Budden have plenty of history as they recently squabbled in June after Joe made comments on his podcast about Hot 97 Summer Jam having “seat fillers.”

Joe Budden and Gillie Da Kid have squashed their long-running feud in the most fitting way possible: by recording a podcast together.

On Wednesday (August 16), Million Dollaz Worth of Gameshared a video on YouTube showing Budden pulling up to Gillie’s home to film an episode of his and Wallo’s aforementioned podcast.

“Look at this n-gga. Old n-gga rolled an hour and a half, gotta put his shoes the fuck back on,” Gillie joked while stood on his porch as The Joe Budden Podcast host got out of his car. “We don’t wanna hear none of that proper talking shit; you on n-gga time.”

“I ran a little late,” Budden said with a smile as he approached the duo, hugging them and dapping them warmly.

Wallo then joined in on the banter, saying: “This is what you look like when you’re two rappers and it’s over. We celebrating the 50th year of Hip Hop, these is two ancient dinosaurs of Hip Hop. This n-gga made $3,700 his whole rap career. Joe probably made about $77,000.”

“It fucked me up too,” Budden replied, before telling Wallo: “Get your YouTube hype shit the fuck outta here.”

The video then cuts to a brief clip of the trio sharing a laugh while recording the podcast. The roasting session continued after filming as Gillie Da Kid flamed Joe Budden’s outfit.

“That n-gga wear Off-Whites with no socks,” he said as Wallo panned his camera down to show Budden’s sock-less footwear. “Like he got air conditioning in his sneakers.”

The video’s description further hyped the upcoming episode by hinting at Gillie and Budden ironing out their issues, calling it a “podcast for the ages.”

“In honor of the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop we got two Hip Hop dinosaurs and one Hip Hop historian together for the podcast for the ages,” it reads. “Joe Budden wasn’t about to get off easy for talking bad about Gillie’s small bedroom window [crying face emoji].”

The reconciliation comes after Joe Budden threw shade at Gillie Da Kid for his not-so-high-flying lifestyle, leading to words being exchanged between the pair.

“I don’t wanna hear none of that money talk from you n-ggas!” he barked during a May episode of The Joe Budden Podcast as Rick Ross’ chest-pounding “I’m Not a Star” played in the background.

“Your headboard is covering a very small window in your primary bedroom! I can tell it’s not like that! Stop fucking playing with me.”

Internet detectives linked Budden’s comments to an Instagram video showing a woman asleep in Gillie’s bed, ostensibly after sex, with his headboard covered by a small window in his bedroom.

After catching wind of his apparent sneak diss, Gillie fired back on Twitter by calling Budden a “washed up” rapper and bringing up his past rehab stints and domestic violence allegations.

“After the washed Up Rap career in and out all the rehabs all the beating on Bit$hes Now u Wanna Podcast Beef [crying face emojis],” he wrote. “I’ll beef when u start getting sum Ad money [skull emoji] #GotEm.”

The former rappers’ relationship initially soured back in 2020 when Budden and his then-co-hosts Rory and Mal spoke about producer Devin Wade’s split from Million Dollaz Worth of Game following the show’s lucrative $3 million deal with Barstool Sports.

A pissed-off Gillie put Budden and co. on blast, saying: “Why was y’all n-ggas talking about us on your podcast? We don’t talk about other podcasts on our podcast. It must be dead fred over that muthafucka, huh?

“Stop speaking on business that you n-ggas don’t have no fucking clue what y’all talking about. Because I will catch you n-ggas in traffic, and then what’s gonna happen?”

Months later, Budden aired out Gillie over a video of him speaking down on the Black Lives Matter movement and championing “All Lives Matter.” The clip circulated after the May 2020 death of George Floyd, but Gillie claimed it was filmed four years earlier.

“I’m not caping for this n-gga, man,” Budden said on his podcast. “This n-gga says and does a lotta stupid, doofy, goofball shit and ever since he got that Barstool deal, it’s amplified.

“Anybody who replies to Black Lives Matter with the harm that Blacks do to each other, you not somebody that I’m not gonna have this conversation with again. And I’m gonna question your train of thought, I’m gonna question your cognitive skills. You clearly do not comprehend the magnitude of the conversation we’re having.”

He added: “You can’t give a million dollars worth of game sounding as stupid as you sound.”

Gillie responded by calling the former Slaughterhouse MC “Joe Butthead” and threatening to leak a video of him getting beat up by Raekwon and his crew.

“Raekwon and his man walked in — I seen the tape,” Gillie said on Million Dollaz Worth of Game. “Now, you keep talking shit, n-gga, and in the next episode I’m putting it the fuck out. That n-gga punched you in your fucking face, you fell on the floor and screamed, ‘My eye! My eye!’

“You sat there screaming about your fucking eye. Then that n-gga’s homie picked you up and sat you on the couch while you was still screaming, ‘My eye! Me eye!’”

Ali Jones sat down with VladTV for an interview on Wednesday (August 16) where he opened up about Nelly allegedly going for months at a time without paying him what he was owed.

“I’ll say like it could be $90,000 or $70,000,” he estimated. “When that conversation happens I’ll get a check. It’ll be $13,000. Now you’ll be fucked up now because what is this $13,000 for? You owe me $91,000.

“What did you pay me for? At the end of it, it’s gonna be $66,000 because he’s far behind on the payments.”

The St. Louis native blasted Nelly for the lack of communication on his end and then blamed an outsider for trying to divide Nelly from the group.

Ali went on to declare that he’s “never” going to reunite with Nelly or hit the stage to perform with him again in the future.

“A tiger ain’t never gon’ change his stripes,” he said. “I watched it for 20 years and I’m the butt of the joke because it took me 20 years to realize it. I could put a never, ever behind it will I ever hit the stage or do anything with him.”

The $50million Ali was referencing is the reported figure Nelly was paid for selling half of his music catalog back in June. The deal included eight albums spanning a string of hits, a lot of which played a crucial role in elevating 21st-century Hip Hop and R&B.

Nelly joined forces with HarbourView Equity Partners in the deal to hand over some of his biggest anthems such as “Hot In Herre” and “Dilemma,” among several others.
