Keeping true to his New Orleans heritage, PreauXX (pronounced Pro) finds an immediate musical connection to the city he was born in (which reflects in his namesake) and the city in which he was raised. Born as Christopher Dansby, the future hip-hop artist and his family relocated to Memphis, TN when he was just 10 years old. It wasn’t until the 8th grade after hearing Kanye West’s “Never Let Me Down” from The College Drop out that Dansby would make a choice to pursue hip-hop as the outlet to convey his own tale of two cities.

On the heels of his release Forever. I Will, his follow-up to the street release, Die Winning; PreauXX is demonstrating a dynamic, concentrated approach to his soundscape. “Forever. I Will is a statement. In life I believe the goal isn’t to live forever but to create something that will. My inspiration behind the project was to give a perception of my generation from my eyes. Talking about society, love, the hustle and social issues in modern time,” says PreauXX.

With production duties handled by long–time collaborators Alexander Odell and IMAKEMADBEATS, PreauXX poses that his newest works will captivate listeners and tackle social issues in stark contrast to his prior debut. Citing passion and hardships as personal inspiration, PreauXX identifies musically with his Mississippi River-bred heritage. “I incorporate that by different styles of rap I display. I am big fan of Memphis’ Project Pat and the fast cadences of New Orleans’ bounce music artist.”

Armed with an initiative to inspire his listeners to follow their dreams, PreauXX dropped out of college in order to pursue his musical aspirations full-time. The following two years, by releasing two mixtapes, he attained local notoriety due to his charisma and aggressive wordplay meshed with the brilliant branding strategy of TRDON, the independent moniker co-founded with Alexander Odell. Focusing on a simple strategy of music, touring and merchandising, PreauXX and TRDON are turning their musical goals into reality. The collective has had the opportunity to open for big name artists, such as Big Sean, Big Krit, Cashout, Young Dolph, hosted their own TRDON showcases at Austin’s “SXSW,” Atlanta’s “A3C Hip Hop Festival”, Memphis’ “Cooper-Young Festival” and “Memphis In May International Festival.”

In 2014, PreauXX and his TRDON team released ‘Die Winning’ a free project amongst core followers and later distributed via eOne on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon and other online distribution platforms.

Since the release of Die Winning, PreauXX has garnered more attention and features from local and national reputable media sources and blogs, such as DJBooth.net, Nah Right, Potholesinmyblog, USA Today, Kevin Nottingham and more. Seemingly busy, he’s been recording new material with indie artists Cities Aviv, Wave Chappell, Skewby, Kap Kallous and XXL freshman and newly signed Aftermath/Interscope recording artist Jon Connor.

Sacrificing material comforts in pursuit of a dream, PreauXX continues to push a song sung in the headphones of the overlooked dreamers; a song sung to call every generation towards its unique greatness. PreauXX knows he´s not the only one to hear the mockingbird sing. But he´s the first to teach it to rap.
