JID has wasted no time in dropping new music in 2024 — and it sounds like there’s plenty more where this came from.
On Monday (January 1), the Dreamville rapper released a new song called “30 (Freestyle),” produced by Griselda affiliate Conductor Williams — who recently worked with Drake and dropped a joint project with Conway The Machine — as well as Christo and Tane Runo.
The track, which is accompanied by a visualizer filmed during a visit to Poland, finds JID flexing his lyrical muscle over a bustling, horn-laced beat.

On Sunday (December 31), the former Flipmode Squad members linked up on stage during a private event.
Before handing the microphone over to his fellow New Yorker to spit a few bars, Bus had some kind words for Papoose and his drive to keep the aforementioned Hip Hop legend within everyone’s line of sight.

Despite several delays and a wobbly takeoff, Hip Hop enjoyed a successful flight at high altitudes this past year. The genre had a noticeably late start in landing its first chart-topper, which naturally raised concerns about its future as a trendsetter in popular music. Fortunately, a healthy balance of stars and underdogs pulled through and gave the culture a much-needed boost. Still, there was a bit of turbulence along the way that was tough to ignore because it posed a threat to the momentum that took months to build up and stabilize.
Early in the year, the absence of releases from Hip Hop’s biggest names prompted the notion that a Billboard No. 1 placement would be......

Today East St. Louis producer and artist TurnMeUpB returns with a new single titled “Fellen,” deliberately misspelling “felon” with a tough of eye dialect to resonate with the street slang of his hometown of East St. Louis, Illinois.
“Fellen, I am one. I am a felon. With the duct tape on the cover I don’t speak about it. I never been a rat. I hold my own. I spelled it like that because thats the ebonics way and I could spell it with the ‘o’ and I just thought the hook is talking street stuff and its just a bunch of felon’s getting to the money and I came across it. And it just worked.”
