Swizz Beatz has recalled the making of DMX‘s “Party Up (Up in Here)” and revealed the late rapper needed a little push to finish the record.
Sitting down with Rema as part of Rolling Stone‘s Musicians on Musicians series, the producer talked about the music process that brought him fame while bringing up a story about forcing Dark Man X to record one of his biggest hits.
“What made me really popular when I first started was I would have the beat and the chorus already laid for the artist,” he said. “They just had to plug and play. I would look at the energy: If they come in with their friends, it’s like, ‘Oh, he’s......

When a lot of people think of British rap, they often default to drill and grime artists like Skepta or Stormzy, or more recently, Central Cee or Dave. This is probably a function of how they’ve been co-signed stateside by institutions like Drake, whose approval has been a career booster for many artists, or Rolling Loud, the festival that has come to define the image and direction of hip-hop in recent years.
But when I interview London’s Loyle Carner about the disparity between this perception and his own, jazz-influenced approach to thoughtful, traditionalist rap, he dismisses any pressure to conform to the archetype known by both Americans and Brits. “It’s......

Wiz Khalifa is not here for the claims that he fell off — and he has the receipts to back up the fact he hasn’t.
The Taylor Gang CEO dropped in to the Back On Figg podcast that was streamed live on Friday (October 27). When co-host T-Rell asked his thoughts on the haters that say he isn’t hot anymore, Wiz broke down exactly why that’s not a factual statement.
“I think people are always gonna say that if you’re not right in their face, but if you look at what I do or the amount of shit that I put out or how constantly I’m working, you can’t say that,” he said. “Even the old songs that I have, they’re still......

During an Instagram live session, Howard decided to set the record straight regarding his personal life.
He made it pretty clear that what goes on behind in a person’s private bedroom is his business and his alone and people shouldn’t care so much what other people are doing in their private lives.
At one point in his rant he says: “I ain’t gotta tell nobody where......
