Ja Rule is currently gearing up to make his return to music, but has taken a moment to apologize to his fans for the long wait.

On Thursday (January 25), the “Put It On Me” rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) where he reflected on his over decade-long break as a recording artist, admitting his lengthy hiatus makes him “sad.”

“Damn sitting here listening to my new album 12 song in it’s making me a lil sad I should’ve never stopped making music I’m SORRY… #CWWTST,” he wrote.

Fans were receptive to Ja’s apology, with one user responding: “It’s ok Ja we still love you.”

“No apologies necessary…we been waiting for you to come back!!” another wrote. “Hopefully you not done recording, and will add a few more songs to this one lol. ‘Ladies’, from The Mirror, needs to get released as well.”

Earlier this month, the former Murder Inc. hitmaker hinted at dropping a new album, which will mark his first in over 10 years.

“In full Album mode… #CWWTST,” he wrote on X, seemingly teasing an abbreviation for the album title.

Ja previously used the hashtag in October when he boldly proclaimed: “I’m cooking up a CLASSIC…. #CWWTST [wave emoji].”

In a follow-up post shared via Instagram last week, the New York rapper previewed a song presumed to be on his upcoming album.

“That Queens boy is back dipping and it’s Martin Luther King weekend how Fitting… #CWWTST [sunset, orange heart emoji],” he wrote in the caption.

Ja Rule’s last album Pain Is Love 2 came out in 2012, peaking at No. 197 on Billboard 200 chart with just over 3,000 first-week sales.
