Ashanti has opened up about her relationship with Irv Gotti in the wake of her former label boss’ untimely passing.

Roy Ayers, the legendary jazz and soul musician who was nicknamed “The Godfather of Neo-Soul,” has passed away at the age of 84.
His death was announced on Wednesday (March 5) in a statement shared on Ayers’ official Facebook page by his family.

Angie Stone, the R&B and soul veteran who began her career as part of a pioneering all-female rap group, has died in a car crash at age 63.
TMZ broke the news that Stone was killed in an accident in the early morning hours of Saturday (March 1), following a gig in Montgomery, Alabama.
Stone was a part of The Sequence, the first all-female group to sign to Sugar Hill Records. Between 1980 and 1983, they released three albums on the label. Their most influential song by far was the 1979 single “Funk You Up.”

Drake settled his petition against iHeartMedia over Kendrick Lamar‘s “Not Like Us” after reportedly receiving proof that the company “did nothing wrong.”
In his petition, which was filed in November, the Canadian rapper raised suspicions that UMG may have paid iHeartMedia to play “Not Like Us” on its many radio stations across the country, an illegal practice known as payola.

Jam Master Jay‘s convicted killer, Karl Jordan Jr., has reportedly been stabbed while behind bars at the MDC Brooklyn jail awaiting sentencing.
The NY Daily News reported Tuesday (February 25) that 41-year-old Jordan, who is one of the two men convicted of killing the Run-DMC legend, was stabbed during a weekend fight. Though he was hospitalized with his injuries, he ultimately survived the attack.

Nipsey Hussle‘s brother Blacc Sam has confirmed a posthumous album from the late rapper will be arriving this summer.
